Orbit S&S electric assist Bosch Sram

This British built tandem has the latest Gen5 Lightning Bosch Performance Line CX 100Nm motor and is the newest addition to the Orbit electric assist range.

We have designed this as the ultimate touring e-tandem. With it's S&S couplings it can go across the back of a car or on any train that accepts solo bikes. It's capacity for 1600wh batteries means it can cover long distances without the need for a recharge.

Built in the Uk from cromo tubing, much of which is Reynolds 853 and fitted with S&S couplings which allow the tandem to split into 2 section in minutes.

As standard an 800wh battery is fitted.

Add a 2nd 545wh battery for £680 to give 1,345wh.

Or add another 800wh battery for £900 to give 1,600wh.

The 800wh battery weighs 3.9kg, and takes 6.9 hours for a full charge, however, it is 50% charged after the initial 2 1/2 hours.

Range of course depends upon rider weight, wind, tyre selection & altitude gain, but it can be as much as 160 miles with 2 batteries fitted.

The 250W motor is the highest output system that is road legal in the UK, giving up to 100Nm of torque.

This type of electric assist is called a mid-drive system, the engine runs through the gears, and correct use of the gears when climbing make the system really efficient, and allows a light weight motor to be used whilst still giving out a great amount of torque, which is needed for pedalling up the hills.

Built in North Yorkshire, and finished with top quality components including the new Bosch Smart system with a Kiox controller.
